Stone Carving Day at Bishops Caundle, Dorset

Learn to stone carve in a full day with renowned stone sculptor Jonathan Sells. Take home your stone carving and new skills on completion. No previous carving experience needed, all materials and tools provided, along with expert tuition.

The stone carving days take place in a beautiful farm setting in North Dorset. Tea and coffee provided, but please bring a packed lunch.

‘Have a Go Stone Carving’ at Dunshay Manor, Harman’s Cross, Dorset

Jonathan took part in a ‘Have A Go Stone Carving’ event at Dunshay Manor, Harman’s Cross, Swanage, on 17th and 18th September 2022.

The event was in conjunction with The Landmark Trust open day at Dunshay Manor, in association with Heritage Open Days.

Jonathan will be teaching ‘taster’ relief stone carving sessions, at Guggleton Farm Arts on Saturday 7th December 2019.

The lessons are £20 each and last two hours, plus £5 for stone.

You’re welcome to stay for more than one lesson and beginners are very welcome.

Stone carving workshop times are as follows:-

10am -12 noon
12.30pm – 2.30pm
3.00pm – 5.00pm

The weather was beautiful and the students all had a good time, producing some wonderful slate and stone carvings (photos of the finished items coming soon).
